What You’ll Do:
The Garage Door Technician's role involves conducting repairs and installations for residential and light commercial garage doors and openers, while delivering top‑notch customer service to all clients.
Daily Responsibilities:- Conduct inspections to assess the condition of garage doors, openers, and related components.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on garage doors, including replacing springs, cables, rollers, and hinges.
- Install new garage doors, openers, and associated hardware according to manufacturer specifications.
- Adjust garage door openers and safety sensors to ensure proper functionality.
- Troubleshoot issues with garage door operation, such as alignment problems or electronic malfunctions.
- Provide customers with recommendations for repairs or upgrades based on their needs and budget.
- Educate customers on proper maintenance techniques to prolong the lifespan of their garage doors.
- Respond promptly to service calls and schedule appointments with customers.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working on garage door systems.
- Keep accurate records of service performed, parts used, and customer interactions.
- Establish customer rapport to sell the right products and services.
- Educate and assist customers in choosing the best finance options and service club agreements.
- Understand your service criteria and hold yourself accountable for exceeding revenue goals.
- Show yourself as a professional and knowledgeable to win new referrals and repeat business.
- Maintain a clean, organized job site and a well‑inventoried truck.
- Participate actively in all training exercises and weekly meetings.
- Be accurate and timely with invoices, time cards, summary of findings, and customer reviews.
A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required for this position. A minimum of 2 years residential service experience is preferred.
