Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Equipment Operations & Repairs:
    • Setting up, maintaining, and optimizing production line equipment (conveyor systems, packaging machinery, bottling lines).
    • Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems.
  • Facility & Utility Checks:
    • Performing daily system checks on plant infrastructure, including ammonia refrigeration, boilers, and industrial air systems.
    • Monitoring proper fluid levels and running equipment overhauls.
  • Preventive Maintenance (PM):
    • Executing scheduled PM protocols to prevent unexpected downtime and lengthen equipment lifespans.
  • Installations & Upgrades:
    • Assisting with the installation, testing, and commissioning of new facility equipment.
  • Safety & Quality Compliance:
    • Strict adherence to OSHA safety standards.
    • Maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SQF (Safe Quality Food), and food safety requirements to ensure product integrity.

Typical Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance role, ideally within a food and beverage or high-speed packaging environment.
  • Technical certification or an Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance (or equivalent trade experience).
  • Technical

    Skills:
    • Proficiency reading electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
    • Strong background in electrical systems, pneumatic systems, hydraulics, and PLCs.
    • Ammonia refrigeration experience, machining background, or welding experience.
  • Physical Requirements:

    Ability to stand for long periods, perform heavy lifting (50+ lbs), and work on active production floors around machinery.
