Intermountain Truck and Auto Repair is seeking an experienced Light-Duty Diesel Technician in Bend, Oregon, with strong diagnostic and drivability skills. This A- or B-level opportunity pays $30-$50 per hour and focuses primarily on domestic 3/4-ton and 1-ton diesel pickups. The shop has served its community for more than 20 years and emphasizes professional workmanship and getting repairs right the first time.
Technicians work Monday through Friday with no weekends in a five-bay, five-lift shop with heated bays.
- Diagnose light-duty diesel drivability and performance concerns using scan tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Perform intermediate to advanced automotive diagnostics on domestic diesel pickups.
- Complete diesel repairs, component removal and replacement, maintenance, and vehicle inspections.
- Service and repair Power Stroke, Cummins, and Duramax-equipped light-duty trucks.
- Perform repairs such as turbocharger and exhaust manifold/up-pipe work, transmission replacement, and related mechanical repairs.
- Complete preventive maintenance, including differential, transfer case, and transmission services.
- Assist with estimates and parts ordering as needed to provide backup support in the front office.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship with a focus on completing repairs correctly the first time.
- At least 5 years of relevant automotive or light-duty diesel repair experience.
- Intermediate to advanced diagnostic and drivability skills.
- Experience working on light-duty diesel pickups, including Power Stroke, Cummins, and Duramax applications.
- Ability to use automotive diagnostic scan tools; the shop uses Autel and Snap-on equipment.
- ASE certification is required after hire; certification training is reimbursed by the employer.
- Must have your own tools appropriate for the work.
- Ability to support repair estimating and parts ordering is valued for this role.
- $30-$50 per hour based on the agreed pay plan and qualifications.
- Choice of straight hourly or flat-rate compensation.

Intermountain Truck and Auto Repair is a small, established light-duty diesel repair shop with more than 20 years in the Bend community. The team works primarily on domestic 3/4-ton and 1-ton pickups, giving an experienced diesel technician the opportunity to spend significant time on diagnostics, drivability, and hands-on repair work. The shop has five bays, five lifts, heated work areas, and a Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends.
Team activities include quarterly dinners and an annual Christmas party.
