Approximately 4.5 hours per week. Start Date August

Benefits Eligibility: Not eligible other than as required in the State of Oregon

Reports to: Program Manager

Pay: $17 / hour (paid on 5th & 20th of each month)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Giving Plate is dedicated to providing food assistance with dignity, compassion, and respect to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.

The Giving Plate is seeking a dependable and people-centered individual to join our team to facilitate our Kids Korner Mobile Pantry, driving weekly to rural areas to serve food to children

This position offers a variety of hands-on tasks and opportunities to support the day-to-day operations of our hunger-relief programs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Responsibilities may include:

  • Drive the Kid's Korner Mobile Pantry bus weekly (no CDL required).
  • Prioritize the experience and well-being of children in all program activities.
  • Assist with the implementation and growth of childhood hunger programs, focusing on Kids Korner Mobile Pantry.
  • Support program logistics, setup, and operations as needed.
  • Assist with collecting and maintaining accurate program data and reporting.
  • Collaborate with leadership to improve policies, procedures, and program effectiveness.
  • Help identify and implement innovative ways to better serve children and families experiencing food insecurity.

This list is not exhaustive, and additional responsibilities and expectations may be assigned as needed to align with the evolving needs of The Giving Plate.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Event Support:
    Capability to assist with event setup and logistics (ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds).
  • Communication:
    Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Distribution Center: 1212 NE 1st Street, Bend, OR 97701 & Partnering sites where Mobile Pantry is parked

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION
  • Driver's License
  • Driving Record will need to be submitted and reviewed. Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, maintain an acceptable driving record, and be insurable under The Giving Plate’s vehicle insurance policy.
