J Bar J Boys Ranch is a highly respected, long-standing program of J Bar J Youth Services
, supporting adolescent boys referred by the Oregon Youth Authority. We use trauma-informed practices, evidence-based programming, and structured positive behavior management to support our residents in developing the skills, confidence, and accountability necessary for success in their communities.
As Program Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the Ranch, ensuring quality care, compliance, and positive outcomes for youth. You’ll supervise and mentor staff, guide programming and behavior management, coordinate services with OYA and other partners, and ensure licensing and regulatory compliance. You'll play a critical role in creating a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for our youth.
Key Responsibilities Include- Leading daily operations and ensuring high-quality service delivery
- Supervising staff performance and training to build a strong, mission-driven team
- Ensuring compliance with OYA contracts, BRS licensing, and federal guidelines
- Overseeing case management, intake coordination, youth plans, and service delivery
- Managing documentation, budgets, grant reporting, and audits
- Acting as a liaison with referring agencies, courts, parents, and the community
- Being on‑call for critical issues and supporting crisis response as needed
This is a full‑time, 40‑hour‑per‑week position with a primarily weekday schedule. Flexibility is required for occasional night, weekend, holiday, and on‑call duties.
What We’re Looking For- A Bachelor’s degree (required), or Master’s (preferred), in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience working with at‑risk youth in residential or related settings
- Strong leadership, organizational, and team‑building skills
- Experience with trauma‑informed care, ABCR, and treatment planning
- Knowledge of BRS and OYA systems strongly preferred
- Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and decisive under pressure
- Valid Oregon driver’s license and current CPR/First Aid certification
- Starting at $32.00/hour
