Local Class C Driver
Pay: Starting at $22.14 – $26.62 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 7 am – 4 pm, or until all loads for the day have been delivered.
Location: Bend, Oregon.
As a Driver, you will be essential to ensuring customers receive orders on time and in excellent condition. You will maintain safety regulations and provide superior customer service while operating the company truck within a 50‑mile radius of Bend.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Class C Driver’s License
- 21 years of age or older
- Current DOT Medical Card or willingness to obtain one as a condition of employment
- Acceptable driving record
- Ability to speak, write, and read English
- Knowledge of vehicle safety audits and ability to report any malfunctioning equipment to comply with Federal and state regulations and company policy
- Time‑management skills for efficient route planning
- Clear and transparent communication
- Familiarity with GPS devices or mapping applications
- Driving experience within 50 miles of the primary location preferred
- Puncture‑resistant, slip‑resistant shoes made of leather or composite material with ankle support
- Complete required new‑hire training and all ongoing training opportunities.
- Provide required paperwork and scan documentation for dispatch.
- Learn products and their applications for end users.
- Follow established best practices and learn from mistakes.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of tie‑down rules and regulations.
- Understand weight, height, and length limits for loads.
- Ensure all transported material has an invoice or Material Returns Form.
- Complete mileage and fuel usage reports.
- Take photos of delivered shipments after each delivery to confirm completion.
- Plan and optimize routes to meet on‑time and in‑full delivery commitments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Act as a safety‑sensitive employee working at a lumber yard and delivering to jobsites under all weather conditions.
- Pass DOT pre‑placement physical.
- Lift up to 90 lbs.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Sit for extended periods and stoop, bend, and walk as necessary.
- Two weeks of vacation per year from day one with an additional day each year up to four weeks.
- Employee paid sick days.
