Position Summary:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to load, unload, move, and store materials. Duties include performing basic equipment checks, maintaining accurate inventory records, and keeping the work area clean. The role may also assist other departments as needed.
- Drive a forklift in an efficient and safe manner
- Do simple maintenance checks on forklifts
- Load and unload all types of trucks and materials
- Operate stretch wrap machine
- Stack and unstack pallets
- Keep legible records
- Keep work area neat and clean
- Pull rework and reassemble
- Work in other departments as a fill-in if needed
- Enter inventory data into inventory tracking system
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. of product occasionally
- Work performed in a plant environment
- Exposed to any number of elements (heat, steam and cold)
- Frequently during the day getting on and off of fork truck
- Must be able to drive a forklift in an efficient and safe manner
- Must be proficient in reading and math
- Must be able to work without supervision
- Must be able to follow directions
- Computer literate for data entry
