Position: CNC TECHNICIAN

CNC Technician – Manufacturing & Precision Machining

Pay Range: $21.13 – $34.15 per hour (based on experience and skill level)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC Technician to set up, operate, and maintain CNC equipment used to produce high-precision components. This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and the capability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The CNC Technician will support production goals through accurate machining, equipment upkeep, quality inspection, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC machines (3-axis and 5-axis machining centers, Swiss lathes, mill-turn equipment) to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings.
  • Install tooling, fixtures, and attachments; adjust offsets and settings to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic repairs on CNC equipment.
  • Monitor machine operations, make adjustments, and recommend process improvements.
  • Complete setup sheets, maintain accurate production documentation, and follow all process controls.
  • Manage and maintain tooling and material inventory.
  • Handle material movement and general floor support as needed.
  • Follow all safety practices and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
  • Train others once skills are mastered and support cross-training across departments.
Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or technical training required; advanced manufacturing coursework preferred.
  • Proven CNC machining experience with setup capability; G-code adjustments or programming experience is a plus.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to meet production deadlines, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems is helpful.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and manual handling.
  • Regular lifting up to 10 lbs; occasional lifting up to 35 lbs; up to 50 lbs with assistance.
  • Exposure to noise, vibration, and cutting fluids.
  • Requires use of PPE and adherence to all safety policies.
Preferred Experience (Higher Pay Range Consideration)
  • Minimum of 2 years as a CNC Technician.
  • Ability to independently perform setups and support multiple machining operations.
  • Solid performance history with strong evaluations and no corrective actions.
