Overview
The starting pay rate may be negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Registered Nurses (RN) at the Vermont Veterans' Home (VVH) develop and manage nursing care plans, as well as instruct patients and their families in proper treatment for the highest level of function and quality of life. We provide person‑centered care and encourage all residents and families to be active participants.
Clinical oversight is supported by a wide range of services for long‑term and short‑stay admissions. VVH is a skilled nursing facility seeking compassionate and motivated Registered Nurses to deliver care to veterans and other members with dignity and respect.
We are currently recruiting for evenings, nights, and weekends. Shift differentials, as applicable, will apply to hours worked on weekends, evenings and nights.

Duties are primarily performed in a clinical setting and may require travel off‑site. Exposure to communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, and potentially physically or verbally violent patients may occur. The role may require evenings, nights, weekends, and extended shifts as the need arises.
Minimum QualificationsPossession of, or eligibility for, licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont or a multi‑state license, plus:
- Two (2) years or more of professional nursing experience; or
- One (1) year or more of experience as a Registered Nurse I with the State of Vermont.
NOTE:
Must maintain Vermont licensure or a multi‑state license as a condition of employment.
Overtime work is required to maintain minimum staffing levels and for unannounced regulatory inspections. The ability to work overtime when required is an essential function of this job class.
