OverviewThe Vermont Veterans' Home is currently recruiting LNAs to join a compassionate team dedicated to providing best in class care to our Country's Veterans, their spouses, and Gold Star Parents. We are dedicated to providing a professional and fun environment where staff may thrive and grow all while giving back to our Nations Heroes. Our staff provide person-centered, trauma informed care to residents with a wide range of physical and psychiatric disorders.
We are currently seeking to fill three part-time, Limited Service positions on the Evening shift, 2pm to 10:30pm. These positions will be scheduled for 24 hours of work per week, and the schedule will include working every other weekend and holidays. Shift and/or weekend differentials will be applied to qualifying hours worked. The positions are eligible for benefits.
This position involves patient care and treatment work at the aide level in a long-term care setting, working an assigned shift. Work assignments are performed under the direction of a Licensed Practical Nurse and/or Registered Nurse. In-service training courses are required, and staff are encouraged to pursue continuing education.

Candidates, including current State employees seeking transfer, promotion, demotion, or persons exercising re-employment rights, must pass a fingerprint supported background investigation applicable to the position. Additionally, in accordance with Federal and State regulatory standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, Office of Inspector General exclusion database checks, motor vehicle driving record checks, and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates.
Hiring managers will notify applicants who are in the final stage of the interview process of the fingerprinting and background check requirements, to which an applicant must agree to be deemed eligible for this position. Duties are performed in a long-term care and residential care setting. Incumbents may be assigned to any area of the facility and to any shift. Requires standing for long periods of time, walking for extended periods and distances, sitting, repetitive movements, bending, twisting, stretching, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Duties require regular and direct interaction with residents with varying degrees of physical and mental illness, dementia, infectious diseases, severe physical and mental limitations, and residents who may display unpredictable behavior.
Incumbents predictably encounter high levels of stress and emotional situations, exposure to potentially physically and verbally violent patient populations and exposure to infectious disease.
Possession of (or eligible for) licensure as a Vermont Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA).
