Job SummaryHourly Rate: $20 – $22 per hour, plus a travel stipend.
This position involves operating heavy construction equipment and learning drilling and blasting operations in a stable, majority employee‑owned company. Advancement opportunities are available for qualified individuals.

- Follow job‑specific instruction from Superintendents, Blasting Supervisors, or Drill Operators.
- Maintain safety awareness and work effectively in varying weather conditions.
- Be willing to travel out of town and work overtime as needed.
- Perform daily maintenance activities to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment.
- Adhere to Company Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Learn and execute drill patterns and terminology according to the Blaster Foreman’s instructions.
- Inventory accessories, understand costs, and maintain drill accessories.
- Communicate problems and terrain conditions to the Blaster/Foreman.
- Use the Field Accounting system to complete and submit accurate paperwork (drill reports, hole sheets, timecard).
- Demonstrate physical agility and the ability to work unsupervised while maintaining urgency.
- Coordinate supplies with the Blaster and carry all necessary tools and supplies.
- Participate in meetings as needed (Foreman, Safety, Job‑Specific, Daily Heads‑Up).
- Complete Driller I training within the designated period.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience operating heavy construction equipment (e.g., backhoe, skid steer, excavator, loader) is helpful.
- Valid driver’s license with personal transportation.
- Experience as a construction laborer.
- High level of common sense regarding equipment and machinery operation.
- Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of motors, hydraulics, electrical systems, or related areas.
- Successful completion of ATF screenings.
- Perform essential job functions, including lifting 50–100 lbs. 30–40% of the time.
- Work on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather conditions.
- Stooping and bending 30–40% of the time.
- Maintain physical agility.
