We are looking for an accounts payable specialist to join a chemicals manufacturing organization in Bensenville, Illinois. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting specialist who can manage high-volume payables activity with accuracy and consistency. The position supports core invoice processing, coding, and payment functions while helping maintain smooth approval workflows and reliable financial records.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices accurately and ensure supporting documentation is complete before entry and payment.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts, resolving discrepancies with internal teams and suppliers as needed.
• Assign correct general ledger codes and maintain precise account allocations across payable transactions.
• Prepare and manage ACH payments and check runs in accordance with established payment schedules and controls.
• Review approval routing to confirm invoices move through the proper workflow and follow up on outstanding authorizations.
• Create and track debit memos, accrual-related entries, and other payable adjustments to support accurate month-end reporting.
• Maintain organized accounts payable records and respond promptly to vendor or internal inquiries regarding payment status.
• Use ERP tools, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 when applicable, to support daily accounts payable processing and reporting.
