Bensenville School District 2 is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team at Tioga Elementary School. In this vital role, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide individualized assistance to students with disabilities, helping them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally in a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. Description:

The Special Education Paraprofessional Aide will assist in a classroom setting under the supervision of a certified instructor.

Other duties as assigned may include supervision of areas, but not limited to classrooms, washrooms, playgrounds,

before and after school supervision, as well as general supervision of cafeteria, library, hallways, and other instructional

settings as determined by administrator.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

* Assist with the preparation and adoption of instructional materials.

* Assist with the supervision, escorting, and instruction of students as directed.

* Assist with the maintenance of accurate records on student progress.

* Assist the teacher with all aspects of the daily instructional program.

* Participates in staff development activities as directed by contract.

* Performs other duties as may be assigned by administration.

* Bilingual Preferred

Hours

35 hours a week, 7 hours a day
- Elementary Schools

8:00 a.m.

- 3:30 p.m. with a 30 minute duty free lunch

Qualifications:

* Paraprofessional License - Visit to learn how to apply for a para license.

* Excellent Communication Skills

* Basic Computer Knowledge

Physical Demands:

* Ability to read and communicate effectively with employees of the district.

* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, visual, and verbal form.

* Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel, or operate objects or controls, and reaching with hands and arms.

* Vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

* May be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 20 pounds.

* Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
