Bensenville School District 2 is seeking a nurturing and dedicated Pre-K Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team at Tioga Elementary School. DescriptionThe Pre-K Special Education Paraprofessional will assist in an early childhood classroom under the supervision of a certified teacher. This role includes supporting students with individualized needs, including communication, behavior, and daily routines. Additional duties may include supervision in classrooms, restrooms, playgrounds, and during arrival/dismissal, as well as support in the cafeteria and other instructional settings as determined by the administrator.
PrimaryDuties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and implementation of developmentally appropriate instructional materials and activities
- Support students with daily routines, including transitions, toileting, feeding, and self-care as needed
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to reinforce early learning skills (social, behavioral, communication, and pre-academic)
- Assist with the supervision, escorting, and instruction of students as directed
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
- Collect and maintain accurate data on student progress as directed by the teacher
- Collaborate with teachers and related service providers to support student goals
- Participate in staff development activities as directed by contract
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration
Hours 35 hours a week, 7 hours a day – Elementary Schools. 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. with a 30 minute duty free lunch

- Excellent Communication Skills
- Basic Computer Knowledge
- Ability to actively engage with young children, including sitting on the floor, bending, kneeling, and assisting with mobility as needed
- Ability to read and communicate effectively with staff and students
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Work involves walking, talking, hearing, and using hands and arms to assist students
- Vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
- May be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds
