Position Overview

Bensenville School District 2 is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Pre-K Bilingual Spanish School Social Worker to support the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral success of early childhood students and families. The successful candidate will provide culturally responsive social work services, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and partner closely with families to remove barriers to learning and promote student well-being and school readiness.

This position requires a strong understanding of early childhood development, family engagement, and trauma-informed practices to support the unique needs of Pre-K learners within a diverse school community.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide individual and group counseling services addressing social-emotional, behavioral, developmental, and mental health needs of Pre-K students

* Conduct social developmental histories, observations, functional behavioral assessments, and other evaluations as part of special education eligibility and IEP processes

* Serve as an active member of IEP, MTSS, 504, and problem-solving teams

* Support implementation of Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 social-emotional and behavioral interventions

* Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and related service providers to develop effective supports for students

* Facilitate communication and engagement with families, ensuring equitable access to school services and resources

* Conduct home visits, as appropriate, to support family engagement and student success

* Support students and families during transitions into the Pre-K program and beyond

* Participate in crisis intervention, risk assessments, and follow-up support as needed

* Connect families with community agencies, early childhood programs, and outside mental health resources

* Promote positive school climate initiatives and social-emotional learning practices

* Provide consultation, modeling, and support to staff regarding classroom interventions and student supports

* Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations

* Participate in professional development and contribute to continuous improvement efforts

Required Qualifications

* Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program

* Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement (or eligibility) in the State of Illinois

* Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required

* Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse student populations

* Knowledge of special education law, MTSS frameworks, trauma-informed practices, and early childhood development

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in an early childhood or elementary school setting

* Strong collaboration and consultation skills

* Training in restorative practices, SEL programming, or behavior intervention planning

* Experience supporting multilingual learners and immigrant families

* Experience working with Pre-K or early childhood-aged students preferred

Physical Demands

* Ability to read and communicate effectively with employees of the District

* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, diagram, or oral form

* Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel, or operate objects or controls, and reaching with hands and arms

* Vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

* May be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 20 pounds

Salary and Benefits :

Salary and benefits are based on the negotiated teacher contract for the  school year.
