3rd Grade Dual Language Teacher (Spanish)

The District is seeking a qualified 3rd Grade Dual Language Teacher (Spanish-speaking) to provide high-quality instruction within a dual language classroom setting.

The Dual Language Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering standards-based instruction in both English and Spanish, supporting the academic and linguistic development of all students. Instruction will be provided in alignment with the district's dual language model, including literacy and content instruction in the partner language.

This position requires collaboration with grade-level partners, English and bilingual staff, and families to support student success. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment and demonstrate a strong commitment to bilingual education and student achievement. All responsibilities must be carried out in accordance with district policies and state and federal requirements.

Qualifications
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • Bilingual/ESL Endorsement (required)
  • Spanish fluency (speaking, reading, and writing required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • Previous teaching experience preferred, but not required
Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned to grade-level standards in both English and Spanish
  • Implement the district's dual language program model with fidelity
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
  • Assess student progress and use data to inform instruction
  • Establish and maintain a positive and structured classroom environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families
  • Participate in grade-level meetings, professional development, and school activities
  • Maintain accurate student records and ensure compliance with district and state requirements

Physical Demands
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively with employees of the District.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in either written diagram or oral form.
  • Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects or controls, and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 20 pounds.
