Special Education Paraprofessional
Bensenville School District 2 is seeking a compassionate and reliable Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team at Tioga Elementary School. In this role, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide individualized support to students with disabilities, helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally within an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Description:The Special Education Paraprofessional will assist in a classroom setting under the supervision of a certified teacher.
Additional responsibilities may include supervision in classrooms, restrooms, playgrounds, and during arrival and dismissal, as well as general supervision in the cafeteria, library, hallways, and other instructional settings as determined by the administrator.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:- Assist with the preparation and adaptation of instructional materials
- Support student learning through individual and small group instruction as directed
- Assist with supervision, escorting, and monitoring of students throughout the school day
- Help maintain accurate records related to student progress and activities
- Support the teacher with daily classroom routines and instructional programming
- Participate in staff development and training as required
- Perform additional duties as assigned by administration
Bilingual preferred
Hours:35 hours per week (7 hours per day) – Elementary Schools 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (includes a 30-minute duty-free lunch)

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Work involves walking, standing, hearing, and using hands to assist students and operate classroom materials
- Ability to reach, bend, and move throughout the classroom and school environment
- Vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
- May be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds
