We are seeking an experienced layout engineer with experience in sheet metal layout.

Experience with ASME BPVC (Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code) a big plus.

Layout Engineer

Ensure quality parts are engineered and fabricated utilizing our standards, systems, and fabrication knowledge. Ensure routing and fabrication instructions are clear, complete, and accurate. Ensure part quality and productivity meets ACE fabrication standards and customer requirements.

• Layout Engineer Responsibilities:

• CAD/CAM Layout Duties
• Develop/update designs to meet ACE fabrication standards.
• Analyze customer 3D design and engineer for ease of fabrication.
• Accurately layout and program parts for Manufacturing.
• Modify customer prints to match ACE fabrication methods.
• Use ACE manufacturing standards and capabilities to generate 3D models in Solid Works from supplied CAD files
• Library parts and update routing BOM’s.
• Create NC programs for laser cutting using Sigma Nest & Sigma TUBE software.
• Program press-brake using By soft 7 software. Provide additional 2D drawings as required by production.
• Maintain associatively between Solid Works, Sigma Nest, Bysoft 7, Sigma TUBE and Driveworks.
• Create visual work instructions in-line with agreed upon standards.

• Project Planner Duties

• Understand job requirements by reviewing project plan (before layout).
• Revise/update current procedures as needed and inform the PE as to the change.
• Collaborate with shop personnel & project engineers to optimize production instructions.
• Work with customers on process improvement & offer optimal solutions.

• Project Manager Responsibilities

• Participate in Project Management Process, kaizen’s and kick-off meetings.
• Assist production to fully understand the fabrication & process requirements.
• Follow up with production to provide guidance and review the current processes and make appropriate updates.
• Collaborate with shop personnel to develop & implement best practices.
• Identify, develop, and implement opportunities for training with value stream leaders.
