The Area Freight Operations Manager I is responsible for Freight Forwarding facility operations, managing inbound and outbound domestic and international freight shipments, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and overseeing the facility’s P&L.
Responsibilities- Project Planning and Execution – planning, scheduling, and overseeing freight forwarding projects to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery of goods.
- Problem‑Solving and Decision‑Making – addressing logistical challenges, resolving shipment issues, and optimizing transportation routes.
- Collaboration with Cross‑Functional Teams – working closely with procurement, customs compliance, and transportation teams to coordinate seamless operations.
- Leadership and Mentorship – guiding team members, fostering continuous improvement, and driving operational excellence through effective leadership.
- Process Improvement and Innovation – identifying opportunities for process enhancements and implementing innovative solutions.
- Technical or Customer‑Facing Responsibilities – handling customer queries, managing vendor relationships, and leveraging technology tools for shipment tracking and reporting.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in freight forwarding, logistics operations, or supply chain management.
- Proficiency in logistics software, supply chain management systems, data analytics tools, and E2K/LOCUS systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, adaptability, and customer‑centric skills.
- In‑depth knowledge of customs regulations, international trade compliance, Incoterms, and industry best practices.
Job Grade: 30C
Required Shift: Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
CompensationBase pay ranges from $81,900.00 to $ per year. Additional annual short‑term or long‑term incentive compensation programs may be available.
