Purpose of the Position

To perform service (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on equipment at assigned Hiab locations, following Manager’s instructions. Responsible for contributing to productive customer relationships and following best practice in all administrative and technical activities.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Stay up to date with technical developments via internal service bulletins and required courses.
  • Maintain knowledge of technical specifications of relevant equipment.
  • Respond to customers to maximize satisfaction.
  • Follow Hiab Customer Satisfaction Guidelines.
  • Protect self and others; adhere to safety rules working practices and environmental requirements.
  • Report any equipment safety concerns to the District Service Manager.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, report, plan and conduct service or repair as instructed.
  • Submit regular reports in the specified format.
  • Maintain adequate records and documentation in line with standards.
  • Plan and manage time and resources for maximum benefit to Hiab and the customer.
  • Make judgments about cost‑effective and efficient service approaches.
  • Maintain accurate invoicing to the customer.
  • Manage and protect spare‑part security and traceability.
  • Recognize sales opportunities and communicate to the District Service Manager.
  • Provide feedback to support continuous quality improvement.
  • Participate in innovative thinking to improve service efficiency.
  • Coach/tutor junior colleagues and trainees as necessary.
  • Act in a way that promotes a positive image of the Hiab brand and follows the Quality System.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Accountabilities
  • Obtain and maintain a 1‑year DOT medical card.
  • Be mobile, adaptable, and able to work in variable physical site conditions.
  • Hold a qualification from a higher vocational school (or equivalent experience) in mechanical engineering, hydraulics, electrics, or electronics.
  • Possess working technical knowledge of all Hiab product lines.
  • Understand diesel engines and hydraulic drive systems.
  • Be fluent in the local language and have working knowledge of English (spoken and written).
  • Hold required operator licenses for all equipment in line with local requirements.
  • Maintain records in compliance with agreements.
  • Understand and comply with Hiab USA, Inc. Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
  • Adhere to safety and environmental requirements.
  • Own the required tools.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical or secondary college preferred.
  • 3+ years of mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical operations preferred.
Skills and Competencies

  • Appropriate diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Responsible act in light of prevailing circumstances.
  • Good hands‑on skills for mechanical, hydraulic and electronic operations.
