• Sheet Metal/Bridgeport Operator Responsibilities:
  Responsible for manual machining operations according to job requirements, including drilling, tapping, reaming, countersinking, facing, and manual milling or turning.
• Coordinate with team members to receive raw materials and process them per the prescribed job sequence.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, job routings, and work instructions.
• Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, depth gauges, and height gauges to ensure accurate dimensions.
• Perform manual machine setups, including adjusting speeds, feeds, tooling, and work-holding fixtures for each job.
• Maintain high safety standards and operate equipment following proper procedures at all times.
• Apply knowledge of material types (steel, stainless, aluminum, etc.) in relation to machining requirements and cutting speeds.
• Responsible for maintaining clean and organized work areas, including machine stations and bench areas.
• Perform basic maintenance on machines, such as lubricating, replacing worn tooling, sharpening drills, and inspecting belts or coolant levels.
• Select and properly use standard machining tools and understand which tools and processes are required for each operation.

• Always wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the shop.
• Participate in mandatory safety training and apply safety procedures daily.
• Immediately report or intervene when witnessing unsafe practices or conditions.
• This is a safety-sensitive position.

• Proficiency in reading blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Skilled in using manual mills, lathes, drill presses, and grinders.
• Strong understanding of machining principles, feeds, speeds, and cutting tools.
• Ability to use and read precision measuring instruments.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
