Supervisor, ReceivingRegular Full-Time Bensenville, IL, US
Salary Range: $26.00 To $30.00 Hourly
Position Summary:
The Receiving Supervisor oversees shipments and material being received into the facility and verifies with manifests to ensure accuracy. This data is then reported to accounting and prepares distribution of materials to correct department heads.
Essential Functions:
- Instruct Material Handlers and Driver of their daily duties.
- Read and understand all associated Receiving paperwork.
- Compile and distribute the daily Receiving report.
- Use a forklift to move and stage material.
- Visually evaluate the condition of shipments received. (Correct product, correct quantity, evidence of damage, etc.)
- Able to identify and react to any nonconforming product found/suspected in the Receiving
- Process.
- Complete and maintain all associated Receiving paperwork.
- Properly stage materials received.
- Complete any associated computer entry requirements.
- Sign manifests for Hazardous Waste pickup and removal
- Understand the handling and shipping of hazardous materials.
- Verify product and quantities
- Communicate with the Logistics Coordinator and Department heads to identify what is scheduled to arrive and receive
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the various types of wire and cable produced and the customers to whom it is being shipped
- Knowledge of packaging and loading techniques
- Knowledge of applicable OSHA/Safety regulations
Skills and Abilities:
- Understands proper handling techniques so that product integrity is maintained.
- Understands inventory control so that FIFO can be maintained if required.
- Understand and comply with associated ISO requirements.
- May be required to assist in other job functions.
- May be requested to perform over-time activities.
- May be required to work outside the normal scheduled business day.
Qualifications:
- Completion High School, GED or equivalent.
- Experience in the Shipping Department of a manufacturing facility desired.
- Forklift driving is required.
- Proper use of over-head cranes desired; training will be provided.
- Computer experience desired; job specific computer training will be provided.
