Summary Of Position

Reporting to the Director of Food Safety & Quality Assurance, the FSQA team members will improve and monitor food safety requirements, assist in quality control for customer returns and credit reporting, and serve as the point person between sales and the warehouse for quality and service disruptions. The FSQA Technician will be able to address food safety and quality concerns.

Summary Of Position

Reporting to the Director of Food Safety & Quality Assurance, the FSQA team members will improve and monitor food safety requirements, assist in quality control for customer returns and credit reporting, and serve as the point person between sales and the warehouse for quality and service disruptions. The FSQA Technician will be able to address food safety and quality concerns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify and document that cooler temperature, receiving, sanitation, and shellfish records are maintained.
  • Conduct daily walk-through of coolers to check products and identify any quality, expired, or rotation issues.
  • Assist in product sampling, environmental testing, and ATP testing as required.
  • Follow all SQF, MSC, and GMP protocols.
  • Serve as the company representative for any regulatory visits, audits, or inspections.
  • Assist in customer order verification and product release for shipping for customers experiencing previous complaints or disruptions.
  • Participate in facility recall and food defense teams, following the established guidelines from regulatory agencies.
  • Verify all scale and thermometer calibrations.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Minimum Requirements
  • Saturday availability required.
  • HACCP certification
  • 5+ years of progressive distribution, seafood industry, or retail experience in a fast-paced production environment. Perishable food service experience preferred.
  • A demonstrated sense of urgency in meeting critical and time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Advanced analytical skills using Microsoft Excel. Strong command of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills are required. Bilingual Spanish speaker preferred.
  • A combination of the above requirements will also be considered to satisfy minimum requirements
