Chicago - Senior Dispatcher

Job Title

Responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate daily dispatch operations, ensuring timely and efficient deployment of drivers and vehicles across all assigned routes and service areas

Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, customers, and internal teams, resolving scheduling conflicts, delays, and service disruptions in real time

Monitor GPS tracking systems and fleet management software to optimize route efficiency, driver performance, and on-time delivery metrics

Mentor and provide guidance to junior dispatchers, supporting training efforts and enforcing standard operating procedures and company policies

Maintain accurate records of driver logs, vehicle assignments, trip manifests, and incident reports in compliance with DOT and company regulations

Coordinate with maintenance teams to manage vehicle availability, scheduling preventive maintenance while minimizing operational downtime

Analyze dispatch data and prepare operational reports to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for continuous service improvement
