Chicago – Senior Dispatcher

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate daily dispatch operations, ensuring timely and efficient deployment of drivers and vehicles across all assigned routes and service areas
• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, customers, and internal teams, resolving scheduling conflicts, delays, and service disruptions in real time
• Monitor GPS tracking systems and fleet management software to optimize route efficiency, driver performance, and on-time delivery metrics
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior dispatchers, supporting training efforts and enforcing standard operating procedures and company policies
• Maintain accurate records of driver logs, vehicle assignments, trip manifests, and incident reports in compliance with DOT and company regulations
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to manage vehicle availability, scheduling preventive maintenance while minimizing operational downtime
• Analyze dispatch data and prepare operational reports to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for continuous service improvement
