THE TEAMThe Business Solutions Team (BST) supports the Kinexus Group family of subsidiaries using a “Team of Teams” approach. Centered on business as the customer, the team builds an ecosystem of resources that support business needs and improve the overall supply of readily available talent for employers.
Desired OutcomesThe Apprenticeship Program Coordinator is an integral member of the BST, managing and coordinating apprenticeship and grant‑related activities to support the Business Solutions Manager’s (BSM’s). This role builds and manages apprenticeships by developing workflow processes and technical instruction, supporting the BSM’s outreach, and coordinating services with the Michigan Works! Talent Team to enroll participants in appropriate programs.
What We Expect From YouThe coordinator is detail oriented, organized, and entrepreneurial, working on multiple projects simultaneously while acting as a problem solver. They serve as a subject‑matter expert, guiding colleagues and implementing the apprenticeship strategy, and collaborating with leaders and staff across the Kinexus Group family.
Duties & Responsibilities- Manage U.S. Department of Labor relationships, compliance, and reporting duties.
- Manage data in the state apprenticeship systems for internal and external use.
- Coordinate training and supportive services with internal teams.
- Develop and create new apprenticeship programs based on employer needs.
- Enroll participants in apprenticeship programs and case‑manage them to achieve successful outcomes.
- Provide and share apprenticeship education for a variety of external partners.
- Support the strategy and grow the apprenticeship service alongside the BSM’s.
- Research potential Related Training Instruction (RTI) partners to expand apprenticeship capacity.
- Research best practices across Michigan and the nation to enhance apprenticeship opportunities for local businesses.
- Manage the internal referral process with the talent department.
- Manage the Business Solution Team’s referrals for apprenticeships and the Go Pro Talent Fund, supporting BSM’s as needed.
- Provide grant administrative support, including the Go Pro Talent Fund.
- Leverage Salesforce as the CRM for data management, learning from data to improve processes.
- Ensure smooth relationship management with local employers alongside BSM’s.
- Assist with developing a communication strategy for apprenticeships.
- Identify grant funding to support identified company needs.
- Collaborate on sector‑level activities and events related to apprenticeships.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with the business and industry community.
- Strong technological, software‑oriented expertise with a desire to work with customer‑relationship‑management software.
- Project‑management skills and ability to lead teams.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to build consensus among managers and staff across diverse organizations.
- Knowledge of workforce development program operations and design.
- Effective oral, written, personal, and telephone communication skills.
- Professionalism in all work‑related relationships with people of all backgrounds.
- Experience working in public relations, recruiting, coordinating services, and B2B outreach.
