The Adjunct Instructor Pools are for applicants who are interested in teaching in the future as a (part-time) adjunct instructor for one of our departments. The pools are always open for applications, but no immediate openings are guaranteed. Department chairs review approved applicants when a need arises. Adjunct faculty are not employed directly by Lake Michigan College, except for specific retirement program cases;
otherwise, employment is through Edustaff, LLC.

Job SummaryUses student-centered instruction to sustain the specific courses and curricula mandated by the educational mission and goals of the College. Requires in‑person instruction on site at the Benton Harbor, Michigan campus.
Essential Functions- Instructs students in assigned classes utilizing instructional technology.
- Provides academic guidance and counseling to students in cooperation with Student Services personnel.
- Maintains academic standards.
- Prepares course syllabus and outline.
- Monitors student progress.
- Keeps accurate records.
- Enters final course grades online.
Other duties as assigned.
AccountabilitiesUnder the direct supervision of the Department Chair, each Adjunct faculty member is responsible for satisfying the educational, administrative, and fiscal requirements inherent in his/her position.
Job SpecificationsMaster’s degree or higher in relevant discipline or subfield, or Master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in relevant discipline or subfield.
Hiring Range$61 per hour.
