Job Summary:Uses student-centered instruction to sustain the specific courses and curricula mandated by the educational mission and goals of the College. Courses can be held on site at the Benton Harbor, Michigan or any other satellite campuses.
Essential Functions:- Instructs students in assigned classes.
- Provides academic guidance and counseling to students in cooperation with Student Services Personnel.
- Maintains academic standards.
- Prepares course syllabus and outline.
- Monitors student progress.
- Keeps adequate and accurate records.
- Enters final course grades online.
Other duties as assigned.
Accountabilities:Under the limited supervision of the Dean, Arts & Sciences or Department Chair, each Adjunct faculty member is responsible for satisfying the educational, administrative, and fiscal requirements inherent in their position.
Job Specifications:Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field OR a Master’s Degree in any field with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Early Childhood Education or Child Development. Equivalent of two (2) years relevant, full‑time work experience teaching at a childcare facility or Pre‑K through Second Grade school setting is required. Preferred qualifications include the Child Development Associate (CDA), Michigan Youth Development Associate (MI‑YDA), Montessori Credential or Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health (MI‑AIMH) endorsement.
Demonstrated experience supporting diverse populations, including rural and underserved communities.
$61 per contact hour
