IBM Sterling Upgrade Architect

The Senior IBM Sterling Architect will lead the design, modernization, and transformation of enterprise B2B integration platforms built on IBM Sterling technologies. This role is responsible for defining architecture standards, driving large-scale upgrade initiatives, and ensuring secure, scalable, and highly available file exchange ecosystems across critical business operations. The position partners with engineering, infrastructure, security, and business stakeholders to deliver resilient integration solutions supporting high-volume transaction processing.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (B2
  
  Bi) architecture experience.
• IBM Sterling upgrade leadership across B2
  
  Bi, Sterling File Gateway (SFG), and Sterling External Authentication Server (SEAS).
• Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) architecture expertise supporting X12 or EDIFACT standards.

• Architect enterprise B2B integration solutions using IBM B2
  
  Bi, SFG, and SEAS platforms.
• Lead end-to-end upgrade programs, including strategy definition, impact analysis, migration planning, cutover execution, and rollback preparation.
• Design secure partner connectivity frameworks using AS2, Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), HTTPS, Transport Layer Security (TLS), certificates, and encryption technologies.
• Develop and govern integration standards for BPML workflows, EDI mapping, trading partner onboarding, and API integrations.
• Define high-availability, disaster recovery, scalability, and performance optimization strategies for enterprise Sterling environments.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, network, and application teams to modernize legacy B2B platforms and support digital transformation initiatives.
