Insight Global is looking for a Sanitation Supervisor to join their client in the food manufacturing industry. The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all sanitation activities within the packaging and production environment. This role is critical to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a fully compliant sanitation program that meets all food safety, regulatory, and company standards. The Sanitation Supervisor leads sanitation teams, partners closely with Quality and Engineering, and ensures a safe, clean, and audit‑ready facility at all times.
This position requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, schedule, and supervise sanitation crews to ensure all equipment, machinery, and facilities meet required sanitation and food safety standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), ensuring all cleaning frequencies and documentation requirements are met.
- Train sanitation and plant employees on sanitation procedures, GMPs, chemical handling, and safety practices.
- Partner with the Quality Manager to inspect, troubleshoot, and resolve sanitation issues that may impact product quality or regulatory compliance.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and auditing of Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
- Monitor sanitation performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety, and cleanliness.
- Serve as the sanitation subject matter expert during new equipment installations, line modifications, and facility redesigns, working closely with Plant Engineering to ensure hygienic design and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain chemical inventories and coordinate with chemical suppliers for training, technical support, and issue resolution.
- Enforce all safety, GMP, and sanitation policies, promoting a culture of accountability and compliance.
- Provide leadership support including employee coaching, discipline, performance feedback, and input on hiring and promotions.
- Communicate workplace hazards and safety measures clearly and monitor employee adherence.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Prior experience in food manufacturing sanitation, including CIP systems, food safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to train, motivate, and manage teams effectively.
- Strong understanding of GMPs, sanitation best practices, and audit readiness.
- Mechanically inclined with basic troubleshooting skills preferred.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and all levels of leadership.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, production‑driven environment.
Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to cleaning chemicals, noise, and temperature variations.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as required to support sanitation operations.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.
