SCOPE OF ROLEResponsible for supervising and sustaining assigned value streams. Demonstrated success in applying Lean basics: single‑piece flow, setup time reduction, inventory reduction, 5S, etc. Supervise both machining and assembly teams, including timekeeping while maintaining positive employee relations, team‑oriented problem solving, and administering employee discipline and recognition per company policy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Supervises and coordinates the activities of production workers, including production scheduling.
- Responsible for safety and 5S in assigned value stream areas.
- Responsible for team building and skill development of employees in the value stream areas assigned.
- Monitors each production associate’s daily attendance for accuracy and approval.
- Provides regular feedback and performance management to the team, administering corrections when necessary.
- Conducts daily value stream walks to look for proper flow, disruptions, and adherence to standard work; identifies issues on the board.
- Coaches employees, collects defect data, and talks with operators about disruptions and continuous improvement ideas.
- Monitors, assesses, and corrects safety and quality practices.
- Improves key metrics: safety, quality, OTD, schedule attainment, units per man‑hour, and productivity.
- Manages the value stream board to ensure processes are implemented and followed.
- Works with other value stream owners and managers to develop and administer consistent departmental and corporate policies.
- Writes and conducts development plans for employees within the value stream.
- Demonstrates experience and knowledge in manufacturing and/or the industrial industry.
- Is a self‑starter while maintaining high ethical standards.
- Works well with others and under pressure within time constraints.
- Manages time effectively and can multitask as needed.
- Possesses exceptional analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Operates computers and uses software applications with proficiency.
- Commits to continuous improvement, safety, and quality standards.

- Creates and sustains training, implements employee rotation for cross‑training and career development.
- Improves on‑time delivery by managing staffing and increasing units per hour.
- Improves 5S audit scores.
- Increases employee engagement survey results by 5% from the previous year.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience with at least one year of demonstrated supervisory success.
- Associate’s degree in Business or Engineering with at least three years of demonstrated supervisory or manufacturing technical support experience.
- At least five years of demonstrated manufacturing supervision experience.
- At least five years of GAST product experience with at least one year of supervisory success.
- At least ten years of experience directly supervising a team in any industry.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Lean processes, tools, and one‑piece flow; preferred.
- Demonstrates knowledge of manufacturing processes; preferred.
- Must be able to work varying shifts, including weekends.
- Possesses technical aptitude and mental/physical/visual acuity.
- Can stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
- Can lift 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
