As an Outside Food Sales Representative, you will cultivate relationships, develop new business, and provide innovative solutions to achieve customer goals.
Pursuing New Customers- Research industry and market trends impacting restaurants in the territory
- Identify and research prospective customers
- Develop sales strategies highlighting products, services, and solutions offered by GFS
- Present sales strategy to prospective customers
- Visit customers on a weekly, bi‑weekly, or monthly basis
- Conduct business reviews to determine needs and opportunities for growth
- Provide ongoing training on GFS product offerings
- Identify opportunities where GFS can add value through product and service offerings
- Balance new customer acquisition with deepening existing relationships
- Coordinate visits to prospective and existing customers
- Communicate order status and updates to customers
First 90 days includes e‑learning, classroom sessions, video role‑plays, job shadowing, and peer mentorship.
- How to use GFS systems, processes, and tools to manage customer relationships
- Products available to GFS customers
- Sales process for engaging new customers
- Best practices for developing relationships with current and prospective customers
- Strategies for effective territory management
- High School Diploma or GED required;
Bachelor’s degree and/or culinary certificate preferred - 1 year of prior sales, business, or food service experience
- Valid state driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Ability to obtain food safety certification
