Overview

Boss Truck Shops is hiring Mobile Maintenance Technicians for trailer preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and on-site repairs across customer yards and distribution centers.

Pay range: $22.00 – $32.00 per hour DEQ plus $8.00 per billed hour commission.

Responsibilities
  • Perform PM inspections and keep the mobile maintenance vehicle clean and stocked.
  • Grease trucks and trailers; perform tire services.
  • Conduct electrical, brake, wheel end/seal evaluations and repairs.
  • Perform all minor repairs and complete complex welding such as rail section repairs.
  • Repair trailer body work including replacing panels, posts, cross rails, side rails, and roof sections.
  • Complete CSA/DOT inspections according to regulations.
  • Sell tires and parts, maintaining profit margins and adhering to trade guidelines.
  • Maintain proper storage for parts, tires, and materials.
  • Document work orders with customer information, labor, parts, warranty details, and photos when necessary.
  • Ensure total customer satisfaction and safety, following company safety policies.
  • Stay current on LMS training and provide friendly customer service.
  • Report work promptly and meet scheduling requirements.

  • Assist with other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • At least two (2) years of diesel technician experience.
  • Tire Service Certified by TIA.
  • DOT Medical Card.
  • Completion of Boss Truck Shops Tech I and II training program.
  • OSHA Skills Demonstration completed.
  • Ability to attend HVAC, Electrical, and DOT training.
  • Ability to obtain ASE, DOT, TIA, and other certifications.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable status.
  • Skilled in welding.
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and nights as needed.
  • Reliable transportation and phone.
  • English communication proficiency.
  • Friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service skills.
  • Teamwork skills and cooperation.
Physical Requirements
  • Occasional lifting and moving of up to 75 lbs.; frequent standing, walking, use of hands and fingers, reaching, talking, hearing, occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
