Job Description & How to Apply Below

Are you a mechanic looking for a change of pace? Medic 1 Ambulance is seeking a hands-on Fleet Mechanic & Facility Maintenance Technician to keep our vehicles safe, reliable, and compliant, and to maintain our stations and support buildings in good working order. This is a critical behind-the-scenes role - when this position is done well, crews can focus entirely on patient care.

This position provides a good deal of autonomy, you would be the sole Mechanic at our company with your own shop. The schedule is typically , but we do offer some flexibility and are willing to occasionally alter those hours, so long as the job is getting down.

The Fleet Mechanic & Facility Maintenance Technician is a critically important part of the Medic 1 team and has grown to be a part of our first responder family. The job involves all the typical duties that you would see in any other fleet mechanic position (Full list of responsibilities is in the attached job description), but it is also so much more.

Our crews rely on the Fleet Mechanic on a daily basis to ensure they're able to get to their calls safely. The Fleet Mechanic & Facility Maintenance Technician does everything from preventative maintenance, & vehicle repairs to snow removal in the winter to ensure our crews can get out and run their 911 calls. They are also our go-to person for coordinating with outside contractors for any specialized facility work (HVAC servicing, roofing, and major electrical).

Our maintenance facility has 6 bays, two lifts, and all of the necessary tools to perform routine repairs on our ambulances and response vehicles. Any prospective new hire, would have the opportunity to train with our current Fleet Mechanic and Facility Maintenance Technician for several months to learn the position and the intricacies of servicing emergency vehicles.

This position does not open frequently, and just so happens to be available because our current Fleet Mechanic is moving out of state. Medic 1 Ambulance is a great place to work, and we would love to have you on our team!
