Construction Observer

Gar Nat Engineering is looking for a Construction Observer to join our team.

The Construction Observer will be responsible for observing and documenting construction activities to help ensure water and wastewater utility infrastructure projects are completed in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable standards.

• Observe construction activities on water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Monitor contractor work for compliance with project plans, specifications, permits, and quality standards.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Document construction progress with photographs and written reports.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients.
• Identify and communicate construction issues, discrepancies, and safety concerns.
• Attend project meetings and provide construction updates.
• Verify quantities and assist with project record keeping as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in construction observation, water and wastewater utilities, civil engineering, or public works.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and engineering plans for water and wastewater utilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office is a plus.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel to project sites.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
