Virtual Construction Coordinator

Job Summary

The Virtual Construction (VDC) Coordinator I supports the execution of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) processes on complex construction projects. This position assists with federated model development, clash detection, BIM coordination, and project documentation while developing the technical and project management skills necessary to independently lead VDC efforts. The Coordinator I works with project teams, design consultants, subcontractors, and field personnel to support successful digital project delivery.

• Assist in implementing the project voe Project Execution Plan (PxP).
• Coordinate with project management, field teams, designers, and trade partners.
• Develop and maintain federated project models using consultant, subcontractor, and internal models.
• Document meeting minutes and action items.
• Follow established VDC standards and workflows.
• Maintain model organization, file structure, and version control.
• Organize and document clash reports.
• Participate in continuous learning and professional development.
• Perform scheduled clash detection using Autodesk Navisworks or similar software.
• Prepare and publish updated coordination models in accordance with project schedules.
• Prepare materials for coordination meetings.
• Produce model views and visualizations to support project planning.
• Track assigned coordination issues through resolution.
• Validate resolved clashes prior to model updates.
• Verify model quality and assist with model audits.

• 1-3 years of BIM/VDC experience.
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications, P&IDs, and vendor documentation.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
• Working knowledge of commercial, industrial, or heavy civil construction preferred.

• May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
• Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
• Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
• Will interact with people and technology frequently during a shift/workday.
• Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50lbs on an occasional basis.
• Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/workday.
• Will use telephone, computer system, email, and other electronic devices on a frequent basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors.
