- Prioritize health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times.
- Complete material analysis to determine characteristics and waste profiles.
- Make determinations of pH, screen for oxidizers, peroxides, cyanides, sulfides, and identify fuel and water compatibilities.
- Determine heat of combustion (BTU value), total halogens, and complete water analysis (by Karl Fischer), percent solids, and paint-filter liquids.
- Utilize the Company Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Perform compositing, packaging, organizing, and proper disposal of retention and other waste samples.
- Stock and organize laboratory areas and storeroom with chemicals and laboratory supplies.
- Perform instrument checks including refrigerators, balances, hoods, thermometers, and pipettes.
- Utilize and uphold good laboratory practices (e.g., QA/QC, documentation, maintenance/minor repairs, housekeeping, professionalism).
- Maintain ability to assist other laboratory shifts as needed.
- Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.
- High‑school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in a science‑related field (preferred).
- 2+ years of laboratory experience (required) – or
- In lieu of experience, an associates degree in a science‑related field (required).
- Environmental laboratory experience (preferred).
