Applied Inspection Systems (AIS) is seeking motivated NDT Level II Technicians to support our team in Arkansas and North Carolina. As a Level II Technician, you will be responsible for conducting inspections using a range of NDT methods to identify corrosion, flaws, or other harmful conditions, in line with specific established guidelines. This role involves carrying out inspections, interpreting data and documenting findings according to company and industry standards.

Additionally, you will be expected to effectively communicate methodologies, procedures, and findings with clients. Your role will be crucial in ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to our high standards in providing non‑destructive testing services to clients nationwide.

Essential Job Functions
  • Execute NDT examinations to identify imperfections for a wide variety of specimens using various NDT methods.
  • Prepare and fine‑tune equipment used in performing NDT examinations.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices and legal regulations, alerting others regarding potential hazards or concerns.
  • Perform all duties as assigned.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of inspection methods, with a strong focus on compliance with industry and safety standards.
  • Set up the machine, and position work pieces for processing.
  • Apply appropriate testing standards and analyze outcomes.
  • Compile and present inspection findings in a structured manner.
  • Interface with clients and co‑workers.
  • Ensure jobs are completed promptly and according to schedule.
  • Instruct assistants in set‑up/tear‑down of equipment; perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks, calibrations, and overall equipment and facilities upkeep.
  • Complete proper documentation and reports of services provided.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to team members as necessary.
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must pass a background check, drug, and alcohol screens.
  • Technical background in NDT methods and procedures.
  • Currently hold NDT Level II certification(s).
  • Proficient in using a computer, including fundamental software applications such as Excel, Word, and other related programs.
Work Conditions
  • Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere and can tolerate climate changes. Conditions may include working in confined spaces, moving parts, moving objects, and producing extreme noise.
  • Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel.
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
  • May be at more than one job site in a day.
  • Must be able to travel out of state with proper advance notification.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, crawl, twist, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, climb stairs and ladders unassisted, work at elevated positions such as pipe racks, identify colors, hear without aid, unhindered eye‑sight, ability to write, count, read, and speak effectively to communicate effectively.
  • Excellent depth perception to communicate and operate a motor vehicle to perform duties.
  • Ability to maintain focus, multitask effectively and proactively.
Tools and PPE Requirements
  • Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include but are not limited to computer and related equipment, calculator, special instrumentation, hand tools, power tools, air tools, telephone, and automobile.
  • Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to safety glasses, safety harness, hard‑hat, reinforced‑toed shoes, coveralls, gloves, and earplugs or muffs required by the safety department for personal protection.
