Associate Pastor / Pastor-Elect
Silver Cloud Missionary Baptist Church
Position Summary
Silver Cloud Missionary Baptist Church is seeking a spiritually mature, servant-minded, and dedicated Associate Pastor / Pastor-Elect to serve alongside the Senior Pastor in providing spiritual leadership, preaching, teaching, pastoral care, and ministry support to the congregation.
This position is designed as a pastoral succession role. The selected candidate will be expected to grow into the role of Senior Pastor after a mutually agreed period of leadership development, mentoring, and transition.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Pastor in carrying out the vision and mission of the church
- Preach and teach during worship services, Bible studies, and special services as assigned
- Provide pastoral care, counseling, prayer, visitation, and member support
- Assist with weddings, funerals, baptisms, communion, and other church functions
- Support outreach, discipleship, evangelism, and church growth initiatives
- Work collaboratively with church leadership, deacons, ministry leaders, and staff
- Help maintain unity, order, and spiritual growth within the congregation
- Participate in leadership development and succession planning toward future Senior Pastor responsibilities
Qualifications
- Licensed and/or ordained Baptist minister preferred
- Strong biblical preaching and teaching ability
- Demonstrated spiritual maturity, integrity, and leadership
- Ability to effectively serve within the culture and traditions of the Black Baptist Church
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Pastoral ministry experience preferred
- Seminary or theological training is a plus, but not required

Compensation
Compensation package will be based on experience, qualifications, and church budget.
