Job Overview

Registered Nurse (RN), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) – Full-Time – Days 3x12, Days (7a-7p)

• Performs duties as assigned and requested.
• Completes focused patient assessments and reassessments based on patient condition, procedures, medications, and treatments.
• Assesses and reassesses pain; utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
• Provides patient care and communicates effectively with patients of all ages and with specific needs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications and ensures correct administration following the six rights to minimize medication errors.
• Assists physicians with procedures and provides services requiring technical and manual skills.
• Performs treatments and delivers care within licensure scope.
• Ensures patient safety by performing all aspects of care in an environment that reduces the likelihood of errors.
• Operates and manages equipment safely and correctly.
• Educates patients and families on disease processes and recovery expectations.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Current state or compact state RN license.
• Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school (BSN preferred).
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required within one year of hire.
• One year of PACU experience (required).
