As a PACU RN you will guide patients through immediate recovery after surgery and procedures. Your clinical expertise, vigilance, and compassionate care will help ensure safe recoveries and positive outcomes during patients’ most vulnerable moments.
Responsibilities- Perform duties as assigned and requested.
- Complete focused patient assessments and reassessments based on patient condition, procedures, medications, and treatments.
- Adequately assess and reassess pain; utilize appropriate pain‑management techniques.
- Provide patient care and communicate effectively with patients of all ages and with specific needs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of medications and ensure correct administration following the six rights to minimize medication errors.
- Assist physicians with procedures and provide services requiring technical and manual skills.
- Perform treatments and deliver care within licensed scope.
- Ensure patient safety by performing all aspects of care in an environment that reduces the likelihood of errors.
- Operate and manage equipment safely and correctly.
- Educate patients and families on disease processes and recovery expectations.
- Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
- Provide quality patient care and work flexible shifts/units as needed.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Current state or compact state RN license.
- Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required;
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within one year of hire. - One year of previous PACU experience required.
