Role Description

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is a full-time, on-site role based in Benton, AR. This role provides psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with a range of mental health conditions, including mood, anxiety, and psychotic disorders. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting comprehensive evaluations, developing and managing treatment plans, prescribing and monitoring medications, and providing brief counseling and psychoeducation to patients and families.

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other care team members to ensure coordinated, safe, and effective care. Additional duties include maintaining accurate documentation, participating in quality improvement activities, and supporting adherence to regulatory and organizational standards.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in Mental Health Nursing and Mental Health Care across diverse patient populations.
  • Competence in Psychiatric Care, including assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and crisis intervention.
  • Credentials and experience as a Nurse Practitioner, with the ability to practice independently and within a collaborative team.
  • Strong general Nursing skills, including clinical judgment, patient advocacy, and interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • Active Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification, or eligibility.
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and time-management skills.
  • Experience in hospital or outpatient behavioral health settings preferred.
  • Commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and non-discriminatory patient care.
