Position Description

Concrete Finisher:

• • Setting of screeds, the rodding, shaping, smoothing, and finishing of the surfaces of freshly poured concrete walls, sidewalks, curbs, guttering, and light pole bases.
  • Finishing of extruded concrete or any other concrete surface requiring finishing, using hand tools or power tools, including floats, trowels, screeds, and straightedge.
  • Ability to use or learn how to use a Power Curber, both String and Stringless GPS.
  • Removing of rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces, using grinder or chisel and hammer and patching holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound.
  • Molding of expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers and straightedge
  • Cutting of joints with concrete saw.
  • Setting of concrete curb, gutter, and sidewalk forms.
  • Read and interpret grade stakes and plans in-order to set forms to proper line and grade.
  • Perform general labor and other construction related duties as required

Position Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Safety Sensitive Position
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have the ability to work extended hours as required by the workload.
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in all types of terrain.
  • Able to meet all physical requirements such as standing, walking, climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting 50 pound or more.
  • Ability to work around loud noises and can tolerate being exposed to odors, gasses, dust, etc.
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, in confined spaces, and in excavated areas.
