The Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing sales performance, identifying growth opportunities, and providing data-driven insights to support the Walmart business. This role partners closely with Sales, Category Management, Supply Chain, Finance, and Walmart stakeholders to optimize assortment, promotions, pricing, inventory, and overall business performance. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with knowledge of Walmart systems, retail metrics, and the CPG food industry.
Key Responsibilities- Manage Walmart replenishment and inventory performance across assigned items and DCs
- Analyze sales trends, forecasts, inventory levels, and in-stock opportunities using Walmart systems and reporting tools
- Utilize Walmart Scintilla, Retail Link, and replenishment data to identify risks and opportunities
- Monitor DC inventory, flow, modular transitions, seasonal events, and forecast accuracy, ensuring reasonable inventory volume flowing based on sales forecast, minimum requirements, product dimensions, etc. and take action to adjust if required.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, suppliers, and Walmart stakeholders to align on growth strategies and ensure successful execution across the supply chain
- Support seasonal line reviews, modular changes, and promotional/event forecasting
- Track KPIs including in-stock %, weeks of supply, waste, forecast accuracy, and sales trends
- Identify root causes for inventory issues, slow-moving inventory, overstocks, and service concerns and provide recommendations.
- Assist with item setup support, launch planning, and transition management for new items as well as sales tracking analysis of new items.
- Communicate proactively with Walmart replenishment and merchandising teams as needed
- Prepare weekly sales reports and assist with presentations
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain, Analytics, or related field
- 2+ years of experience supporting Walmart supplier business preferred
- Experience with Walmart systems including Scintilla, Retail Link, Supplier One
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Experience analyzing forecasts, inventory, sales trends, and replenishment metrics
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience working with Walmart DC-level inventory and replenishment preferred
