The Role
Lithko Contracting is seeking an Estimator to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Estimator will assist the Estimating staff and Pre-Construction Lead with all aspects of estimating, including quantity take-off, pricing and bidding of commercial and industrial construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation:
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for concrete construction projects, including foundations, slabs, and structural concrete - Quantity Take-offs:
Perform quantity take-offs for concrete materials and labor, ensuring all necessary components are accounted for in the estimates - Bid Evaluation:
Solicit and evaluate bids from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and accuracy of estimates - Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to align estimates with project goals and budgets - Value Engineering:
Identify value engineering opportunities and suggest cost-effective alternatives to enhance project efficiency - Documentation:
Maintain a database of historical costs and unit pricing for future reference and assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for clients
- Experience:
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in commercial concrete estimating or a related role in construction - Technical Skills:
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Plan Swift, Sage Estimating) and strong understanding of concrete construction methods, materials, and costs - Analytical Skills:
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills are essential for success in this role
