Overview
The Senior Manager, Construction will lead and manage complex construction projects for Walmart store remodels. The role is field based with up to 100% travel and requires oversight of project scope, budgets, bids, negotiations, operations, compliance, and third‑party contractors.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure construction budgets are met; advise and review pre‑construction budgets.
- Track monthly and quarterly budget reports and resolve claims with contractors.
- Review and approve contractor payments, change orders, and invoices.
- Manage project scope and contingency, monitor and enforce compliance.
- Establish, communicate, and monitor performance standards for contractors.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement design changes.
- Resolve non‑compliance issues, maintain certifications and enforce standards.
- Provide guidance to team members and manage construction projects.
- Create and evaluate project schedules, coordinate internal and external business units, and resolve conflicts.
- Serve as company representative with municipalities and public officials.
- Ensure quality and functionality of projects through the warranty period.
- Oversee onsite construction projects, monitor contractor work and schedules.
- Maintain and adjust timelines to meet project milestones.
- Verify material procurement and deliveries.
- Focus on continuous education, increase technical skills and develop a team‑based work environment.
• 5+ years of construction management experience, preferably leading large‑scale commercial or industrial projects.
• Budget management experience in effectively managing and reviewing construction budgets.
• Proven ability to drive multiple complex projects with key stakeholders and contractors.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Relationship building and stakeholder management.
• Highly self‑motivated and strives to exceed expectations.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field and 3 years’ experience in construction management or related area.
- OR 5 years’ experience in construction management or related field.
- Experience in compliance in construction and real estate management.
- Experience managing large‑scale retail, industrial, or multi‑site construction program delivery.
- Experience using construction project management platforms (Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
- Experience with procurement and contract management processes for construction services.
- Experience with sustainability, energy efficiency, green building standards (LEED or equivalent).
- Professional certification (OSHA
10, OSHA
30, PE, PMP, CCM, LEED AP, or equivalent).

Annual salary range: $80,000 - $155,000. Annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation may include stock.
