Senior Manager, User Experience (UX) Design
Lead a team of UX designers within Walmart’s Global Design organization, delivering high‑quality, inclusive experiences that support associates and managers across the enterprise. Guide the team through ambiguity, connect product decisions to a broader experience vision, and build strong cross‑functional partnerships to scale impact.
Responsibilities- Lead, coach, and develop UX designers across levels; build effective team rituals.
- Set expectations for design quality, scope, and impact; grow talent via feedback, mentorship, and performance development.
- Oversee a portfolio across products and journeys; align to user needs, business priorities, and technical realities.
- Partner cross‑functionally to shape roadmaps and experience strategy.
- Ensure intuitive, scalable, cohesive experiences across touchpoints, markets, and user groups.
- Review and direct work for consistent strategy, patterns, and execution; uphold usability, accessibility, and universal design principles.
- Navigate ambiguity; frame problems, clarify priorities, and drive paths forward.
- Recruit, hire, and retain top talent; build a culture of belonging.
- Influence leaders through communication, storytelling, and a clear point of view on design’s impact.
- Bachelor’s degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, visual communication, product design, computer science, information technology, or related field and 5 years of experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, or related area; OR 7 years of experience in the same domain.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Design certification (e.g., IDEOU – Foundations in Design Thinking Certificate).
- Master’s degree in UI/UX Design, Interactive and Visual Design, Product Design, or related area.
- Experience driving product development in a user experience area.
- Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, and accessibility best practices.
- Industry experience in retail, supply chain, eCommerce, or healthcare.
- Advanced knowledge of accessibility, assistive technologies, and inclusive design.
