The Museum Educator for Teacher Programs plays a pivotal role in advancing Crystal Bridges’ impact on K–12 educators across Arkansas and beyond. This position designs, delivers, and supports high‑quality professional learning, curriculum resources, and museum‑based and school‑based teacher engagements that strengthen arts‑integrated instructional practice.

Working closely with the Manager of Teacher Programs, this role contributes to statewide curriculum adoption, district and higher education integration, teacher‑to‑museum conversion, and national digital reach. The Museum Educator helps position Crystal Bridges as a leader in arts‑integrated education by developing practical, standards‑aligned materials, delivering professional development, cultivating teacher relationships, and connecting educators to the museum’s collection, exhibitions, and digital content.

Ideal candidates bring strong curriculum‑writing skills, instructional design expertise, and the ability to inspire teachers through facilitation, modeling, and relationship building. Knowledge of Museum Education and arts integration is strongly preferred as well.

Typical schedule:

8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., year‑round, with some evenings, weekends, and regional travel required.

• Curriculum Development:
  Design and package high‑quality, standards‑aligned curriculum materials, lessons, and resources that help teachers meaningfully integrate American art into classroom instruction.
• Instructional Design & Facilitation:
  Deliver engaging, inquiry‑driven professional learning in museum‑based, school‑based, and hybrid settings; model object‑based and arts‑integrated instructional practices that strengthen teacher effectiveness.
• Teacher Engagement & Relationship Building:
  Cultivate strong relationships with teachers, districts, and education partners that increase participation in Crystal Bridges programs and convert educator engagement into school visits.
• Curriculum Adoption Support:
  Contribute to the development of High‑Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) and other resources used in statewide, district, and higher education adoption pathways, ensuring alignment with standards and state expectations.

  Work closely with the School Partnerships team and other Learning & Engagement colleagues to align teacher programs with exhibitions, school programs, and institutional priorities.
• Program Operations:
  Support logistics, communication, material preparation, and day‑of operations for teacher programs, ensuring a seamless experience for educators during workshops, events, and PD sessions.
• Evaluation & Continuous Improvement:
  Contribute to documentation, data collection, and iterative improvement of teacher programs based on teacher feedback, pilots, and evaluation findings.

• Teaching licensure strongly recommended
• Bachelor’s degree in art education, art history, studio art, education, museum studies, or equivalent degree/experience required;
  Master’s degree preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of American art history required; knowledge of art, architecture, nature, and wellness is preferred
• Minimum of three years’ experience teaching a range of ages in school or community setting; three years’ experience developing curriculum, presenting programs or public speaking
