The Mental Health Coordinator is a part-time position within the Counseling & Wellness Center supervised by the Director of the Counseling & Wellness Center. The Mental Health Coordinator develops and implements a comprehensive campus-wide Wellness Campaign addressing all eight aspects of wellness (social, emotional, physical, environmental, occupational, intellectual, spiritual, and financial), provides education and outreach to students, faculty and staff, hosts tabling events, and helps to create various wellness events throughout the year.

The primary goals of the Mental Health Coordinator are to contribute and commit to providing a supportive campus environment, to promote psychological health and well-being for all students, and to empower students to achieve academic and professional success.

Essential Duties:
  • Should be able to work effectively with employees and all levels of leadership within the institution
  • The successful candidate must be a self-starter who takes accountability for performance while requiring minimal supervision
  • Must be able to handle highly confidential material efficiently and effectively
  • Must possess strong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
  • Develops and maintains a networking relationship with community referral resources
  • Assists with programming and educational opportunities in such areas as unplanned pregnancy education, drug/alcohol education, various mental health programs such as suicide prevention, test anxiety, support for students with Asperger’s/autism
  • Collaborates with various campus departments such as Student Life, Student Conduct, and Enrollment Support to support and promote student success
  • Engages in continual professional development activities
  • Performs any other related duties as required or assigned
Rate of Pay:

$18.50 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, communications, or related field
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience in mental health clinic or similar setting
  • Experience with program and outreach planning
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Grant writing
  • Spanish-speaking
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to build relationships with individuals and teams across the institution and campus
  • Must be proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to analyze information and recommend appropriate action
  • Knowledge of planning, research, and analysis techniques and procedures
  • Knowledge of department, operations, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to conduct research and perform quantitative quality assurance reviews
  • Ability to research, prepare, and present comprehensive written and oral reports
  • Ability to organize and conduct meetings and workshops
  • Knowledge of state and federal personnel laws, policies, and procedures
  • Excellent administrative, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to function effectively and collaboratively on a multidisciplinary team
