Position:
Preschool Teacher

We seek an enthusiastic and dedicated assistant teacher to join our team. The role supports the teaching team in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for preschoolers (ages 2.5 to
5), promoting physical, emotional, and social development. Must be able to work the afternoon shift until 5:30/6:00 pm.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the lead teacher with planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and curriculum, including free play, arts and crafts, music and movement, storytime, and outdoor play.
  • Help maintain a safe and clean classroom environment that meets health and safety standards, promoting independent learning and exploration.
  • Assist with feeding and toileting routines, following proper hygiene and sanitation protocols.
  • Observe and document individual and group progress and behavior, and communicate with the lead teacher and parents about any concerns or observations.
  • Interact positively and respectfully with children, cultivating a warm and caring relationship that fosters trust and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff members to create a supportive and cohesive team that works together to provide quality care and education to children and their families.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, with some college coursework in early childhood education preferred.
  • Experience working with preschoolers in a childcare or educational setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies and activities.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, bend and stoop, sit on the floor, and stand for extended periods.
  • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Must pass a background check and provide references.
